Can you please tell me about the Jehovah’s Witnesses? I really need some sound information on why they are a false religion. They scare me, they are very persistent and seem so sincere and convincing.
There are three tests for determining the orthodoxy of religious groups. Do they accept the deity of Christ? Do they believe in the Doctrine of Salvation by Grace? Do they believe in the existence of Hell?
According to their web site, Jehovah’s witnesses don’t believe that Jesus is God, but that He’s the first of God’s creation, and therefore an inferior, created being. They also don’t believe in a bodily resurrection.
They believe that salvation is partly by works and while they don’t come right out and say so, believe that theirs is the only true religion in these days. In his book Kingdom of the Cults, Walter Martin identified the Jehovah’s Witnesses as a cult.
